Dear Parents/Caregivers,

My name is Tom Merrall and I have been given this fantastic opportunity to come in and teach the children of Room 6. I have been down in Central Otago on and off for the last ten years, working in the ski and tourism industry and at Queenstown Primary School for the last four years.  During that time I have also spent time working and traveling overseas ski instructing and teaching as well. My wife Louise and I are currently in the process of looking for a house or section to build on in this area. We got married in April this year over at Lake Hayes. I am keen on the outdoors and sports, most of my weekends are spent skiing, mountain biking, tramping or playing squash. I am really looking forward to meeting all of the children, families and wider community.

Learning how to us the blog!!!

Over the next few days I am going to post a few things on our blog just so I can get the hang of using it. This morning I skinned(climbing using ski touring equipment) up to the Wye Saddle at The Remarkables. Hard work and very windy.

School Holidays

I rode my bike out to Arrowtown on the new track. It was very muddy!! That's why I have spent the afternoon washing it.
